Centering indicator is a kind of precise measuring instrument, which is suitable for determining the position of workpiece

elements on vertical or horizontal machine tools.

It can work on the worktable under the condition of motor driving or rotating the spindle of a machine by hand.

Preparation before measurement:

1. Install the probe: screw out the fastening screw, then insert the handle of the probe into the hole on the seat, and tighten the screw to fix it.

With this method, all probes can be easily replaced.

2. Install the fixing rod: There are three screw holes in the lower part of the shell of the watch.

In order to make the dial face the operator and make the fixing rod easy to locate,

the fixing rod can be screwed into one of the selected screw holes.

3. Install the centering indicator on the chuck of the spindle of the machine tool.

4. Install the tested workpiece on the machine tool worktable, so that the measured elements can be placed in the centering table.

1. The spindle needs to be rotated when measuring. In order to facilitate observation, the spindle should be rotated at the lowest

speed or by hand.At this time, the spindle speed of the machine should not exceed 800 rpm.

2. Before the spindle rotates, the fixed rod should be blocked by a bar. Otherwise, the whole centering indicator will rotate with

the machine tool together, and the indicator can not always face the operator.

Probe selection:

1. Internal circle centering: Generally, straight probe should be selected. Large probe should be selected for those with large inner diameter.

When the diameter is larger than 25.4 mm (l inch), bend probe can also be used.

2. Outer circle centering: use the bent probe. Large diameter probe is selected.

3. Small hole with aperture less than 3mm/0.12 in and center of "punch mark": dot probe can be used.
